Beer Glaze Recipe

Beer Glaze Recipe

The starch and ugar in beer acts as a binder for pigment. Best used as a color wash.

  • 1 quart (1 litre) lager beer
  • 1 tablespoon natural pigment
Mix the beer and slaked pigment into a bowl. This glaze is suitable only for absorbant walls, and is not washable. It's best use on low wear surfaces like ceilings.

Takes 1-2 hours to dry and can be washed off during the drying period which allows for a great deal of experimentation and error correction.

Wash brushes with warm soapy water.
