Similar to the Quark Colorwash this differs by not dissolving the layer beneath, so, sophisticated glazes can be rendered with different color layers of glaze.

• 9 ounces (250g) Quark (about a cup)
• 1/4 cup (50 ml) Double boiled linseed oil
• 3 Tablespoons natural pigment.

Beat the quask with an electric (kitchen) mixer. Drizzle in the oil very very slowly. When it is a consistant creamy texture, add the pigment slowly. Dilute with water to a glaze consistancy.

Apply the glaze with a large brush and let it dry 2-3 hours before adding the next layer. Due to the oil this paint will take several days to dry. Wash brushes with warm soapy water.

Suitable for absorbant walls, it can be wiped clean but it not washable. Also used to give walls with less durable finishes (for example casein powder and borax paint) a more durable topcoat.
