The tornado of 2006
The tornado of 2006

A tornado ripped through here in early august. I don't know if what hit us here was the same thing that was measured at Cat 2 up the road a bit in Cambermere but it seems likely to me. Every half mile a tree had be snapped in half and the big old willow in the front yard had been snapped in half, the trunk missing my rear bumper literally by three inches. I jsut drove out from under it and went to my folks house 10 miles down the road to see how they were. Thay had a tree snapped in half too that took out their electricity and across the street from them a maple tree 20 inches in diamater was snapped up about 8 feet up. Do you have any idea of the kind of force you need to snap almost two feet of very hard maple wood? A lot.
